Alert!! Major X Class Flare Warning!!
Ar2860 is Huge! With that said, Dr Tony Phillips at spaceweather.com has issued an alert for a major X class flare. Following the M 4.7 flare form AR2860, Dr Phillips believes if the trend continues, we could see an earth facing X flare.
This week has been active. We had a solar tsunami spread across the sun and sparked a brief G1 geomagnetic storm, right now, we also have 4 active regions with a SSN of 73, the M 4.7 solar flare and now the alert for the possibility of an X class flare from AR2860. Check out this solar burst we had across radio waves from the solar tsunami on August 26th.
So to say the least, we have seen a lot of action this week alone after what we would call a quiet month of August from our star.
